I am such a star-gazer and lover of the universe.

I think all of the secrets and mysteries of the universe are revealed in the sky.

Stars are like hieroglyphics etched above.

The night sky is so exquisite- mysterious yet revealing.

The sky in daylight also has its beauty.

I love this quote from Tumblr blog, Yeah, That Needs to Go, and not because I love poetry (especially dark poetry), but because of the phrase, 'your mixed up soul.' I've talked in previous posts about how when I really began to dedicate my time and focus to my yoga practice, I thought it would automagically turn me into a blissfully sane, 'right-acting' person with pristine karmic record.

Until we understand what the land is, we are at odds with everything we touch. And to come to that understanding it is necessary, even now, to leave the regions of our conquest - the cleared fields, the towns and cities, the highways - and re-enter the woods. For only there can a man encounter the silence and the darkness of his own absence.

History of the Vedas

The Bhāgavatam clearly states (1.4.14) that the Vedas as we know them are not ahistorical. It says that Vyāsa’s efforts to organize the Veda into its current form began “when Age Two was in its third phase.”

Translating this into years is complicated because there are many types of “ages.” Ṛg Veda’s Vedāṁga Jyotiṣa, for example, defines a five-year age.

Celebrating the energetic import of 11/11, by spending the day in a wild and lonely place.  Amanda ventured afar to see what the world was up to, and what she found was that even way out here in the mountains of Snowdonia, the cry for world peace can being heard!

Amanda stands for peace!
